I love milkshakes!
Yet! I am sort of funny on where I get them (of course where I get them is limited to places that make them dairy-free).
I typically do a bunch of smoothies, but milkshakes are just hands down amazing, I will admit!
I remember back in 2009 going to this restaurant named Dharma’s in Capitola, California, and ordering their signature carob soy milk shake for like six dollars (I know…crazy huh?). I thought to myself when I purchased it, “This better be out of this world amazing for that price!”
And just being fully honest, it surprisingly rocking my world!
No kidding – it was fabulous and oh soooo chocolatey (yes, carob is chocolatey)! But it was also quite expensive!
So being that I was at the time *super budget conscious*, I went back home, as a scientist goes to their laboratory, and I worked on it until — I made it! I can hear the applause in my head now!
I literally in my kitchen that night mocked Dharma’s! I made the best vegan chocolate milkshake ever, saving myself money, time waiting in line, and I had extra to share!
I mean, do you really blame me? I couldn’t be left feigning for a six dollar shake for the rest of my life that I knew couldn’t have unless I traveled to Capitola, CA?
Well guess what?
As a result of my effort, at least you don’t have to travel there and pay six dollars for the shake unless you absolutely want to see the beach because friends here is my official copycat Dharma’s milkshake! Shhhh! It’s super easy!
- 1 cup Silk original organic soymilk
- 2 cups Soy Dream vanilla ice cream
- 2 big tbsp Chatfield's roasted carob powder
- Place all ingredients into the blender and blend until smooth on "milkshake".
You will thank me for this one! ~Bella
