My husband has always said that in a recipe “the sauce is the boss”. This means basically that sauces make or break a meal (often times). And aren’t I glad I listened and started experimenting!
If you love a tartar sauce and enjoy the kick of spice, this is something that you can add to your dishes. It’s remoulade.
Remoulade, as Wikipedia put it (so as to save me time explaining):
Invented in France, is a popular condiments in many countries. Very much like the tartar sauce of some English speaking cultures, remoulade is often aioli, or mayonnaise-based. Although similar to tartar sauce, it is often more yellowish (or reddish).
Remoulade is great with zucchini faux crab cakes, hush puppies, croquettes, sandwiches, etc. This sauce is bold, flavorful, and will for sure wow your friends as a favorite.
What’s cool? I made this sauce vegan! I hadn’t found one and I am so excited about this! Isn’t it creamy looking?
Even better when you try it.
